Overview of Indian Fertiliser and SWOT Analysis of Fertiliser Industry

Abstract

Agriculture is the back bone of the Indian Economy. The development of Agriculture is necessary for next generation. In India's success in agriculture sector, not only in terms of meeting total requirement of food grains but also generating exportable surpluses, the significant role played by chemical fertilizers is well recognized and established. By taking today's population scenario, the rate of the population is increasing and land holding capacity is decreasing. In India number of marginal, small and medium land holding farmers is very high. To meet the demand of the market, Chemical fertiliser is use which help in to increase the production of the food-grains. Keeping in view the vital role played by chemical fertilisers in the success of India's green revolution and consequent self-reliance in food-grain production, the Government of India has been consistently pursuing policies conducive to increased availability and consumption of fertilisers in the country.
